August 9th, 2025 Match Results

August is Back-To-School time as we finish up with summer. 43 shooters came out for an amazing day with perfect weather, light breezes and two 100-yard lanes filled with steel targets (and some suckers) to blast away at. Overall, it was an amazing event with some very tight competition. Our top 15 shooters were only separated by 11 shots and had 6 of the 7 divisions representing. Speaking of going back to school, we have our fair share of professors who put on a clinic!

Daivd Civello put on a class act, teaching a lesson or two with 1st place overall and 1st place in Open Division with 764.6 points! David only dropped 1 shot for the entire match! And if you think that schooled everyone, you are mistaken as Casey Huges also only missed 1 shot all match earning 763.4 points, getting 2nd place in Open by only 12 seconds! Also giving out some homework is James Young, coming in 4th overall and 3rd place in Open with 751.3 points, and yes, only 1 shot behind David and Casey. I think they all deserve an A+ for that performance.

3rd place overall and 1st place in Ladies goes to Stephanie Baxter who also only dropped 2 shots all match to score a whopping 753.1 points! Studying her own lesson plans is Yuki Civello who takes 2nd place silver in Ladies Division with 10th overall and 682.9 points. 3rd place goes to Kaylyn Kingston, just 1 shot behind Yuki with 670.0. Another A+ grade for these fine ladies!

And you know what they say about teaching an old dog new tricks? Owen Fjeldsted shows a couple tricks of his own with 7th place overall and 1st place in Old Guns with 702.5 points. Scott Robertson took plenty of notes with 2nd place silver earning 661.3 points. Larry Mathis takes home 3rd place bronze with 540.0 points for the match.

James Bywater talked to his counselors and switched classes, moving to Semi-Auto and doing just fine with the change. James gets 1st place gold with 692.1 points and lands 9th overall. Colton Kalmar did the same schedule change up and finds 2nd place silver with 560.7 points, just barely 7 seconds ahead of 3rd place Bill Pendleton with 560.0 points.

Brandon Caldwell also changed things up and ended up taking an Air Rifle Class. He did his homework because he comes home with 1st place gold in Air Rifle with 651.6 points! We had a couple of new students in the Air Rifle class today and they did amazing with Duke Waggoner getting 2nd place silver and James Andrews earning a bronze grade with 230.0 and 140.0 points respectively. Awesome job Air Gunners.

Young Guns came in from recess time and got busy on their assignments! Hudson Huges turned in his paper first and got rewarded 1st place gold for his 551.2 points. Anthony Pendleton was not far behind him with 530.2 points for 2nd place silver and Kelden Kingston takes home 3rd place bronze with 490.0 points.

Base Class also got some good schooling, and it was Kevin King taking home 1st place gold with 511.4 points. Avery Cook comes in 2nd place with 470.0 points and David Wong earns 360.0 for that 3rd place bronze.

As class is dismissed for this month, I want to thank everyone once again for supporting our club, for helping to set up and take down the targets after the match and for being such amazing friends. Study hard and come back next month so we can do it all again!
