October 25th, 2025 Match Results

The dates for October got switched up a bit as we had our Sundowner X match scheduled on our normal 2nd Saturday time slot.  This pushed our monthly COF out for 2 weeks, which also landed on the same date as Hobble Creeks match.  The COF was extremely fun and even though the turnout was a bit smaller, we still had more than enough to fill out 7 squads for some amazing fall weather shooting.  39 shooters in total battled it out during this spooky month to see who came out on top.

James Young takes home top honors this month, dropping only 2 shots the entire match!  James lands in first place overall and first place in the open Division with an amazing 746.2 points!  He was running scared because Adam Payton was chasing him the entire match. Adam also only dropped 2 shots for 2nd overall and 2nd place in Open Division with 743.3 points!  Separated by the tie breaker stage by 2.9 points.  3rd place overall and 3rd in Open is Jerry Flannery who was 1 shot behind Adam and James with 735.4 points.  That’s 1 shot separating the top 3 finishers of the match!  Amazing shooting Open Division.

Stephanie Baxter takes home 1st place in Ladies and 5th place overall with an incredible score of 693.5 points!  JoDee Mathis in her first competition ever takes home 2nd place Ladies with 280.0 points.  Congratulations Ladies.

Our old guns don’t get spooked much and our OG’s proved that by finishing 6th, 7th and 8th overall!  Carey Palmer takes 1st place in OG with 686.8 points, just ahead of Owen Fjeldsted and Larry Mathis who take 2nd and 3rd place in OG Division.  Owen was 3 impacts behind Carey with 652.2 points and Larry was 1 impact behind Owen with 640.9 points.

Troy Fuit gets a huge goodie bag of Halloween candy by taking 1st place in Air Rifle with 631.4 points!  Matt Stajduhar takes home 2nd place silver with 575.3 points and Mike Kofoed earns 503.0 points for 3rd place bronze.

Semi-Auto class steps up and yells Trick-Or-Treat, and Colton Kalmar plays a trick on the division with 603.5 points for 1st place in Semi-Auto and 12th place overall.  James Bywater takes home 2nd place silver with 542.4 points and Ron Giovo had some rifle issues but still pulls 3rd place bronze with 190.0 points.

Young Guns pulled out some tricks as well with Hudson Hughes continuing to dominate with an impressive score of 560.4 points for 1st place gold!  Caden Norwood in his first ever competition gets 2nd place silver with 120.0 points.

Base Class was separated by only 6 impacts!  When the fog settled and the candy was getting divided up, it was Stetson Sadler who came out on top, earning 400.9 points for 1st place gold!  Just 4 impacts behind is Ryan Walker who earned 360.00 points for 2nd place silver and the bronze tag goes to Jason Norwood, just two impacts behind Ryan with 340.9 points.

Great shooting by everyone who came out.  I would like to express my appreciation to Owen Fjeldsted who always helps with the setup and takedown of every match.  Owen also provides us with those amazing, printed targets everyone gets to use for zeroing, free of charge to the club!  Thank you so much Owen.  Adam Payton also donated the steel protection plate on the KYL rack which was a huge addition to the club.  This helps spotters identify proper hits on target and is greatly appreciated.  Thank you, Adam.  Also as always, thanks to everyone who helped take down the targets, props and clean the range after the match.  You are what makes the Salt Lake NRL22 club the greatest club in the league.  See you all next month at the range!
