June 14th, 2025 Match Results

Father’s Day weekend gave all the competing dads an awesome day to shoot.  Our match this month was smaller, due to another match being held at Hobble Creek, which split our local shooters. We still had an incredible turnout with 39 shooters and 5 newbies. We were also blessed to be able to host some world champion shooters from South Africa, who are in the U.S. for the NRL22 nationals and RMAC next weekend (Rocky Mountain Air Gun Challenge). When the last chunk of lead fell, the top 10 consisted of Open, Ladies, Air Rifle, Old Guns and Semi Auto – and tons of smiles!

Casey Hughes led the way, taking 1st overall and 1st place in the Open Division with an awesome score of 721.7 points.  Shan Garrett was only 6 shots behind Casey and 3rd place overall for that 2nd place gold tag. Shan scored 660.2.  James Young was just a couple seconds faster on the timed stage ahead Colton Calmar for that 3rd place bronze.  James earned 610.5 to Colton’s 601.7.  Ironically, James also tied Jared Souvaris in Air Rifle for the 6th and 7th place overall slots.

Sitting between Casey and Shan with 2nd overall is Owen Fjeldsted, earning 1st place gold in Old Guns with 672.0 points.  Larry Mathis comes home with Old Guns Silver earning 550.0 points and Cory Withers earned 520.0 points for Bronze.

Kaylyn Kingston led the leaderboard up till the last 2 stages but ended up 4th overall and 1st place in her first Ladies competition since moving from Young Guns this year.  Kaylyn earned an impressive 642.7 points, barely squeaking by Joely Pratt who earned 632.0 points for 2nd Place Silver.  Congratulations Joely on taking home 3rd place Ladies at this year’s Nationals event in WA.  Coming in 3rd place is Kim Garret with 540.2 points.

The South African Air Rifle Team put on a clinic for everyone with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes! Jared Souvaris takes home 1st place gold and 6th place overall with his air rifle.  Jared earned an impressive 610.5.  Deon Retief takes 2nd place with 531.9 points and Donovan Souvaris was just 2 shots behind Deon for that 3rd place bronze with 510.0 points.  Congrats SA Team shooters, it was a real treat to have you join us.  Best of luck at RMAC!

We only had 2 shooters in the brand-new Semi-Auto division and James Bywater takes 1st place and 9th overall with 591.3 points.  Bill Pendleton, just 5 shots behind, gets second place and 16th overall with his score of 540.00.

Base Division also had two shooters and was won by Kevin King who scored 410.7 points for gold. Second place silver goes to Matthew Cook with 110.0 points.

Hudson Hughes lands 11th place overall with 550.7 points and 1st place gold in Young Guns Division!  Amazing job Hudson.  Anthony Pendleton takes home 2nd place silver with 340.0.

Congratulations to all the dads that came out to shoot this Father’s Day weekend.  Its an honor to know you and it was such a fun shoot with excellent weather and great friendships.  Thank you, Owen, for helping set up the targets and for everyone who pitched in this time to help take all the targets and props down.  It is a blessing to have so much help after the match.  I hope everyone has a great time with their families and we look forward to next month!
