March 8th, 2025 Match Results
Friday morning, we woke up to a couple of inches of snow on the ground and freezing temperatures. Our March match was not looking all that lucky. By the time we set up the stages that evening, most of the snow had melted and as if we found a pot of gold, Saturday morning had clear skies, and the sun started to peak over the rocky mountains. We must have had some Irish scheduled to shoot, because our luck changed into an awesome match day. We ended up with 56 shooters, and 6 first timers! The competition was brutal as the top 17 places are separated by only 10 impacts!
Someone who didn’t rely on luck was Dario Perez, who was on target today, and ended up 1st overall and 1st place OPEN division winner! Dario scored an impressive 801.9 points, just one shot ahead of Brandon Caldwell who takes home 2nd place silver with 794.4 points. Alberto Perez takes home a 3rd place tag just 2 shots behind Brandon with 772.5 points.
Sitting 7th overall is Easton Baugh, our Young Gun that is on the heels of our top open shooters. Easton scored an amazing 752.6 points for that 1st place gold. Only 1 shot behind Easton was Kaylyn Kingston with 741.0 points. She takes home 2nd place silver and ends up 11th overall. Titus Baugh finishes out the podium spots with 740.0 points and 3rd place bronze.
Stephanie Baxter finds herself in the top 10 once again this month at #8. She takes 1st place gold in Ladies Division with 751.3 points. WTG Stephanie!
Old Guns continue to put on a show every month with back-and-forth battles. This month, Carey Palmer does just barely enough with his Vudoo to earn that gold tag. Carey scores 740.7 points and finishes 12th overall. Corey Withers and Owen Fjeldsted were neck-and-neck the entire match which ended up a tie, but it was Cory Withers who squeaked 19 seconds ahead for that 2nd place silver tag, barely beating Owen who took home 3rd. Cory scored 702.4 points to Owen’s 700.5.
Matt Stajduhar takes his Air Rifle to the top podium spot with 691.0 points, earning 1st place gold. Dusty Powers sits one place lower in 2nd with 620.3 points and Kathy Stajduhar with a new rifle setup impress everyone with 3rd place bronze and 550.0 points for the match!
Adam Payton didn’t need any lucky leprechauns with his 1st place win in Base Division. Adam scored 680.0 points and took home the gold! Michael Howard gets a silver 2nd place tag with 501.0 points and Cody Hatch takes 3rd place with 420.0.
Special thanks again to Owen Fjeldsted for donating the awesome sawhorse to the club, this one is much nicer than the old one we were using. Also thank you to everyone who quickly gathered up all the targets and props. This helped many of us who were rushing to get to the Reno X-match which was shot the next day. I sincerely appreciate everyone who continues to help. It is because of all of you that we have the biggest and best NRL22 club in the nation! We have 1 more match next month to close out our season. I am working on prizes and trophies for our season finale which will be held on May 10th! As many of you know, this is the “don’t-miss” monthly match of the year! See you next month!
