November 9th, 2024 Match Results
I want to give a special thank you to Carey Palmer who stepped up to MD this month’s match while I was out of town. He did an amazing job and we had one heck of a match! One of our top shooters, Boyd Linder, shot the entire match only missing 1 shot! That’s 7 full stages with only 1 miss, and that was good enough to get second place…..wait, what?
That’s right, Stephanie Baxter said “Hold my lipstick and let me show you how to shoot like a girl! And she showed us all!!! Stephanie gets 1st place overall by shooting our first ever CLEAN match, clearing every stage, including the bonus ones.
Along with Stephanie’s 1st place overall, she also takes 1st place in Ladies Division with an amazing 745.5 points! WTG Stephanie! Behind her was Yuki Civello taking 2nd place silver with 666.0 points and Kim Garrett places 3rd for the ladies with 635.3 points.
Boyd Linder takes 1st place gold in Open Division with 736.6, just 9 points behind Stephanie for that overall win. Chris Baxter is burning down the door barely behind both of them with 727.1 points with 2nd place silver, dropping only 2 shots for the entire match. And only dropping 3 shots is Alberto Perez with 715.5 points earning that bronze tag. 4 shots between the top 4 spots. That’s something for sure!
Even with MD’ing the match, Carey still finds a way to pull off a 1st place win in Old Guns. Carey scores an incredible 696.0 points for gold. Owen Fjeldsted takes home second place silver with 635.6 and Mark Miller earns 3rd place bronze with 553.8 points.
Kaylyn Kingston takes 8th place overall and 1st place gold in Young Guns with 694.6 points! Her younger sister beats her own record and takes second place silver with 140.0 and brand new shooter Calvin Howard takes home a third place bronze tag with 110.0 points. Way to go Calvin!
Air rifle is also right in the mix of the top 15 with Matt Stajduhar taking 12th overall and first place gold! Matt earned 666.4 points, barely edging out over Dusty Powers by 1 shot. Dusty gets 2nd place silver with 654.0 points. Troy Fuit finished out the podium spots for Air Rifle with 444.1 and 3rd place bronze.
Base class has some amazing new shooters who are really making some big shots! Adam Payton takes 1st place gold with 582.2 points. Michael Howard takes home 2nd place silver with 493.2 and Dustin Smail, in his first ever match gets 401.7 points for 3rd place bronze! Awesome shooting Dustin!
We were really lucky to have such awesome weather this month. November is usually very cold and snow is always a concern. Not this match! Clear skies, zero wind and the sun came out. It was still chilly, but made for a great day! Overall we had 54 shooters, 10 first time shooters! Thank you everyone who helped Carey with set up and take down, and thank you for making it a great match! See ya all next month!
