October 12th, 2024 Match Results

We’re moving into the cooler fall months right before winter but wait, what’s this? Mid 80-degree weather, light breezes and clear blue skies? What an amazing day for an October match. We had a slightly smaller group this weekend with the Elk hunt opening, but still managed to get 51 shooters to come out and compete. We also had 9 brand-new first-time competitors as well, amazing! There wasn’t any pumpkin spice, but things on the firing line definitely got spicy!

Alberto Perez continues his hot streak with a dash of hot sauce, posting another awesome finish. Alberton takes first overall and first place Gold in Open Division with 733.1 points! He wasn’t getting any free rides though as 3 others were hot on his tail. Second place was only 1 shot behind him, and not just that but TWO people tied for that position! Levi Cress and Jerry Flannery both had identical 724.5 scores to take 2nd overall and 2nd in Open. 3rd place gets owned by Casey Hughes, just a couple impacts behind with an amazing 693.5!

Adam Payton says hold my trick or treat bag Open shooters and comes in 5th overall, just a couple seconds behind, with his Base Division rifle, proving it’s the Indian, not the arrow that gets wins! Adam takes 1st place gold in Base with 690.0 points, 3.5 points behind Casey Hughes. Amazing shooting Adam! 2nd place silver goes to Bill Pendleton with 601.7 points and 3rd place bronze goes home with Michael Howard with 502.9 points.

Our Old Guns are exceptionally fun to watch, every match they battle it out to see who gets top spot. This month, Owen Fjeldsted was on fire and claimed gold with 6th place overall and 1st in OG with 682.8 points. Carey Palmer takes home 2nd place silver with 663.2 points and Brent Baxter earns bronze with his 525.0 points. We’ll keep watching and see how this changes next month!

Young Guns 1st place Gold was taken home by Kaylyn Kingston and her amazing 11th place overall! Kaylyn scored 665.3 points. 2nd place silver goes to an amazing new shooter Ryler Covert who scored 479.3 points! 3rd place bronze, in her 5th match ever goes to 10 Year Old Alayna Kingston who scored a personal best of 214.0 points.

Ladies Division was once again dominated by Stephanie Baxter who lands 12th place overall with a score of 664.6 points, just barely out of the top 10. 2nd place silver goes to Kim Garrett with 471.8 points.

Big congrats to Richard Plumb who impacted enough targets with his Air Rifle to land 1st place gold! Richard scored an impressive 552.5 points overall. Troy Fuit was not far behind and got 2nd place silver with 502.3 points. Kate Jacobson and her beautiful pink colored Air Rifle takes 3rd place bronze with 431.9.

This was an incredible match for sure as the weather was perfect for shooting. The competition was amazing and came down to the very last stage to see who would climb on top. The top 15 spots were only separated by 9 impacts! Thank you everyone who came out to support our club. I want to also extend a special thanks to James Young and James Bywater who had 4 brand new shooters on their squad and took them under their wings and helped them to an awesome time! I always say we have the best competitors in the league, and they stepped up and proved it big time! Let’s hope the weather continues to impress with next month’s match! See you then!
