October 10th, 2026 Match Results
Weather in October can be finicky, you never know if it will rain, snow, or bless us with warm fall days. This match was a little of both with some very light sprinkles in the morning, but the sun broke through during the match to warm things up. The winds were a lot stronger than normal which gave some shooters some fits. Even with the weather challenges, the competition was still on high alert!
Adam Payton once again takes the top podium spot with 1st overall and 1st in Open Division. This guy can shoot! Dropping only 1 shot the entire match and cleaning the NRL22COF. Adam scored 763.04 for the win. Colton Kalmar was right behind him the entire match but came up 4 impacts short with 723.77 points. Still enough for 2nd overall and 2nd in Open. Zac Haarbrink takes home 3rd in open and 4th overall with 705.716 points. 6 shot difference over 7 fun stages.
Cary Palmer notches a mark in the middle of the open division winners with his 1st place win in Old Guns. He finds himself tied with Colton but just a little slower on the timed stage. Carey earned 722.906 points and landed 3rd overall. Scott Peterson shows he can get it done with 2nd place in OG with 674.271 points, 2 impacts ahead of Larry Mathis who takes home 3rd place bronze with 650.481. All 3 OG winners were in the top 10 overall.
Stephanie Baxter is also in the top 10 with a 5th place overall finish, taking 1st in Ladies Division with 684.437 points. 6 impacts behind is Kaylyn Kingston who takes home 2nd place silver with 623.97 and one of our newer shooters Brinley Buhler shows she has some skills too with 553.791 for that 3rd place bronze!
Brandon Caldwell slots in just outside the top 10 in 11th place overall with his Air Rifle, still good enough for 1st place gold in that division! Brandon scored 625.813 points. Brandon was in a 3-way tie with Kaylyn and Dylan for that 11th, 12th and 13th overall spot but scored the fastest time to take 1st. Dylan Whittier was just a couple seconds behind Kaylyn, but still grabbed up that 2nd place silver for the Air Rifle Division. To make it even more interesting, Matt Stajdahur tied for that 14th and 15th position, just one impact behind the other 3 shooters! Matt earned 613.856 points for 3rd place.
Ron Giovo takes 1st in Semi-Auto with 552.037 points, putting Daniel Gibson onto that 2nd place platform for silver with 322.648 points and Scott White took home 3rd place bronze with 301.002 points to finish off the Semi-Auto Division.
1st place in the Base Division is Caleb Adamson, scoring 533.69 points, 4 impacts ahead of Jason Norwood who picks up that 2nd place silver tag. Jason scored 491.335.
Young Guns was a battle between siblings! Kelden Kingston shows his younger sister whose boss by taking 1st place gold. Kelden scored 421.212 points. He better enjoy it because Alayna Kingston is getting better every match, scoring her personal best with 170.00 points and getting 2nd place silver.
I missed out on this match as I was in California shooting a much-needed X-match to try and get my qualifying for Nationals. Thank you, Carey, Owen and my kids Kaylyn, Kelden and Alayna, for all stepping up to make sure the match ran smoothly. Thank you as always to everyone who helped set up the match on Friday and for all those that stayed after to help take down the props and targets after it was all done. Your help is appreciated so much, and it makes it that much easier to put on these great matches. I can’t say thank you enough. I will also be out of town for next month’s COF in November and Carey has once again offered to step up and run the match for me. As a reminder, next month’s match will be on the 1st weekend to work around another state match that is running at the range, and to allow everyone that wants to shoot the Parabellum X-Match in Kingman which is on our normal 2nd weekend. For December and the rest of this season, we should be back to our normal schedule of the 2nd Saturday of each month.
